Health and Safety Protocols

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to in-person classes here at the studio. Our instructors have been closely monitoring policy changes and public health organizations and will continue to make changes, as necessary. The following measures will be taken by Innovation Dance to keep our dancers, families, and instructors safe.

  • Flu-Like Symptoms

Any person that has flu-like symptoms, any symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 10 days, or have had any close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days we ask that you please not attend class or enter the studio for at least 7-10 days.

  • Travel

When traveling on public transportation, we ask that you not attend class for a minimum of 7-10 days from returning.

  • Face Coverings

All faculty, staff and dancers are required to wear a face covering or mask when entering and exiting the studio. When actively dancing, students and teachers may choose to remove their masks or leave them on, masks are optional in class.

  • Temperature Checks

Instructors and students will be required to take their temperature when entering the studio.

  • Waiting Areas

Safe Reopening guidelines for the State of Virginia recommend that our waiting area be closed to limit the amount of people in our space. However, in the case of a dancer who would feel more comfortable, one parent (wearing a face covering/mask) may accompany their child and maintain social distancing while waiting in our lobby.

  • Limited Class Sizes

Class sizes will be limited to 8-10 students, depending on age. Each student will have an assigned spot on the floor and at the barre which will help to give dancers the optimal amount of space to continue practicing social distancing.

  • Personal Belongings

Please arrive dressed and ready for class. Cubbies will be available for each dancer for water and shoes only. Dance shoes can be changed into from our waiting area.

  • Studio Cleanliness & Sanitization

Instructors will clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces (ex. door handles) and common areas (ex. restroom rooms, waiting area) a minimum every 2 hours while the studio is open. HEPA Air purifiers are located in the waiting area as well as in the studio.

  • Hand Cleaning & Washing

All faculty, staff and dancers are encouraged wash their hands frequently. The CDC recommends this as one of the best practices to avoid transmission of the virus. Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and inside the studio.  Students will be required to cleanse their hands upon arrival.

  • Restrooms

To minimize usage, dancers will need to use the restroom prior to class.
